Federal tax credits.
Federal Section 30C EV Charger Credit
Up to $1,000 residential EV charger installation credit in qualifying census tracts. Verify your tract eligibility before banking on this; the program has been narrowed.
Federal Section 25C Panel Upgrade Credit
Federal credit on qualifying electrical panel upgrades when paired with a qualifying energy-efficient improvement. Capped at $600 per year, $1,200 annual aggregate across improvements.

California and Arizona territories interlock at the address level. We confirm your actual utility on the quote, not the city you live in.
Southern California Edison (SCE)
Most of Orange County, Riverside, San Bernardino, Inland Empire, parts of LA
Rebates on Tesla Powerwall and other battery storage. Equity Resiliency tier rebates can cover most of the system cost for qualifying medical baseline households or PSPS-affected customers.
Rebate on Level 2 EV charger installation. Income-qualified residents can stack a higher tier.
EV-friendly time-of-use rate plan. Lower super-off-peak rates overnight reward Powerwall + EV charging shifted to 9pm-8am.
Rizzo Electric handles the SGIP intake paperwork end-to-end for Powerwall installations. EV charger installs include the Charge Ready Home application as a line item on the quote.
Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP)
City of Los Angeles
Up to $1,500 rebate on a qualified Level 2 home EV charger. Higher tier for income-qualified residents.
Rebate stacks with the charger rebate for residents buying a used EV.
LADWP rebate forms require post-install photos and a copy of the permit-closed inspection card. We send these directly to LADWP after the inspection.
San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E)
San Diego County and southern Orange County
EV charger pilot and rebates for residential and commercial customers, including multi-family properties.
Same statewide Powerwall storage rebate as SCE, administered through SDG&E for in-territory customers.
EV-friendly time-of-use rate with low super-off-peak overnight pricing.
SDG&E SGIP intake is handled in-house. Power Your Drive applications coordinate with the install schedule so the rebate paperwork closes the day after final inspection.
Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E)
Most of Northern and Central California
Statewide Powerwall battery storage rebate, administered through PG&E for in-territory customers.
Multi-family and workplace EV charger rebates.
EV-friendly time-of-use rate.
PG&E SGIP intake is handled the same way as SCE and SDG&E.
Arizona Public Service (APS)
Most of Phoenix metro outside SRP territory, including parts of Glendale and Peoria
Rebate on a qualified Level 2 home EV charger paired with enrollment in an APS smart-charging rate plan.
EV-friendly time-of-use rate.
APS rebate intake requires proof of permit closure plus the smart-charger model number. We submit these on the customer's behalf as part of the install closeout.
Salt River Project (SRP)
Most of Mesa, Tempe, Chandler, Scottsdale, parts of Phoenix
Rebate on a qualified Level 2 home EV charger paired with enrollment in an SRP EV price plan.
EV-friendly time-of-use price plan with lower off-peak rates.
SRP rebate forms require an SRP account number, smart-charger MAC address, and post-install photos. We pull these together at install closeout and submit them so the rebate posts as a bill credit.
Tucson Electric Power (TEP)
Tucson metro (Rizzo Electric service area limited; project-by-project)
Limited rebates and time-of-use pricing for EV owners.
Tucson jobs are reviewed individually. Confirm Rizzo coverage before banking on the rebate timeline.
Rebate questions, answered.
Do I apply for the rebates myself?
No. Rizzo Electric handles the rebate paperwork as a line item on the quote. We submit the utility forms with the post-install photos and the permit-closed inspection card so the rebate posts to your bill or arrives as a check.
Can utility rebates stack with federal credits?
Yes, where both apply. Utility rebates reduce your out-of-pocket cost up front. Eligible federal credits apply to your federal income tax return. You can claim both on the same project as long as the utility rebate is not treated as a price reduction by your installer (it should be applied after the install, not before).
How long do rebates take to arrive?
Utility timelines vary. Most rebates arrive within 30 to 90 days of permit closure. SGIP in California is often 60 to 120 days because the intake process is more involved. Federal credits land when you file your federal return for the install year.
What if my address is borderline between APS and SRP?
APS and SRP territories interlock at the address level across Phoenix metro. We confirm your actual utility on the quote, not the city, and submit to the correct one. If you have a recent power bill handy at quote time it speeds this up.
